ANNUAL SEA OATS PLANTING ON ST. PETE BEACH NEEDS VOLUNTEERS
Sirata Beach Resort has partnered with The Florida Aquarium, City of St. Pete Beach and Pinellas County Environmental Management to bring a large-scale sea oat planting project to St. Pete Beach. Volunteers ages 12 and older are needed. The effort will take place on Saturday, June 30th starting at 9:00am behind the Sirata Beach Resort, 5300 Gulf Blvd. in St. Pete Beach. Volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves, small hand shovels, sun block, hats, beach shoes, watering cans or milk jugs, and knee pads if desired.
Parking passes and bottled water will be provided. Planting of native vegetation like sea oats helps form and maintain sand dunes, critical to controlling beach erosion. Come and help us save our beaches! To volunteer, contact Adam Duff at [email protected].
