Earth Champs Say It Loud and Proud
“Erik & Brooke have been really focusing on recycling. Before we throw anything in the garbage, we ask if it can be recycled. Every time we go to Shell Key beach, we find a plastic bag buried in the ground or floating in the water. We pick up the bag and collect garbage. They also collect litter off of our dock and get upset when they see litter floating in the water or on the roads. We have explained to them the importance of keeping our Earth clean and properly recycling or disposing of garbage. They both take it very seriously.”

“The best activity the group has done is that they went up to the Kachina Peaks north of Flagstaff and built a huge fort. Next year, they might camp it. The group’s favorite part of their meeting is when they sing “Earth is Our Mother.”

“The group has given all the adults an opportunity to help our children become active in what they care about and empower them to know they have a voice and a choice.”
