Participate in the Earth Charter + 10 activities and conferences

2010 is the 10th anniversary of the completion of the Earth Charter document at UNESCO in Paris, and the launch of the Earth Charter in Action Campaign at the Peace Palace in The Hague, Netherlands.

We invite you to participate in a variety of local and global events that challenge our governments, our communities, our organizations and our ways of living to reorient policies and practices to embrace EC principles and values. How can we create a financial system that respects and cares for the community of life and future generations? How can we respond to the challenge of climate change guided by Earth Charter principles? How can we live in a way that all can live, “awakening a new reverence for life, the firm resolve to achieve sustainability, the quickening of the struggle for justice and peace, and the joyful celebration of life.”

Earth Charter+10 Planning Conversation

We would like to initiate an online interactive conversation among EC supporters in the US to help develop the promotion and objectives of the EC+10 gatherings next December. ECUS also plans to host a web-based resource mobilizing EC+10 forum among supporters this Spring that will include the participation of Steven Rockefeller, the Chair of the EC Drafting Committee.

Earth Charter US Sustainable Business Awards

The annual Earth Charter US Sustainable Business Awards were developed in partnership with the University of Tampa’s John Sykes College of Business Center for Ethics. These awards are given to Tampa area businesses who demonstrate excellence in focusing on People (employee and community wellbeing), Planet (environmental health), and Profit (economic performance).
